Carnegie Robotics builds custom robotics systems for government and industry. We also manufacture and sell rugged robotics components that allow other organizations to develop their own robots. We’re small enough to have many of the benefits of working for a startup, but we have a very broad customer base, making us more stable and recession-proof than most organizations our size. We are developing and deploying cutting edge technology in robotics, perception, and machine learning. Many of our development efforts go on to have real-world impact in robots that clean floors, find land mines, enable the development efforts of other organizations, and much more. This is challenging, exciting work, and we are committed to building the company culture and diverse team that will allow our continued success.
We’re looking for Software Architects to help us build reliable, testable, maintainable, scalable software for our robots and robot components. Many of our projects already have a strong emphasis on Software Quality, and we anticipate that this will be increasingly important as the number of systems in the field increases. Architecture investments early in the product cycle really pay off later through reduced field support, easier diagnosis of issues, and improved system behavior. We need a few good architects to help guide this process.
What we’re looking for:
A degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, and significant architecture experience (required).
Comfort working in C++, and a willingness to dive into software development when architecture decisions have been made and it’s time to implement them (required).
A positive attitude and great problem-solving skills (required).
Benefits and Perks
High quality health/dental/vision insurance.
Premium pay if you work more than 50 hours in a given week
Free on-site parking
Paid time off to compensate for company travel
On-site grass-roots fitness
Free catered lunch!
401(k) plan with employer match.
Fully paid days off that accrue and are yours to keep starting year one: 24 paid holidays and 15 sick and vacation days.
Comp time for company travel
