System Approach |
Custom development is driven from the system level, with a multi-discipline engineering team focused initially on establishing comprehensive performance requirements and relevant standards/specifications. Application data and customer specifications are critical seeds for a collaborative, constantly questioning, and creative process using cross-discipline synergy. Issues such as sensing, control, communication, power, and environmental hardening are used to evolve and refine the design. Project management structure, design review cycles, and early onset testing provide a framework for detailed engineering. |
Engineering Rigor |
We focus leading-edge hardware and software engineering expertise with a high standard of excellence in the details, and drive exhaustive revisions using a test-to-failure paradigm. Leveraging core technologies, IP, and software wherever possible, we utilize development/modeling tools, prototyping, internal/external design review cycles, software design control, and parametric design. Aggressive testing forces rapid design iteration (mechanical and thermal stress cycling, accelerated life testing, high duty cycles and edge case exhaustion). Design refinement continues to address systemic issues including EMI, environmental extremes, safety, and interoperability standards. We deploy engineering rigor to implement sensing, positioning, realtime control systems, mobility platforms, power systems, wireless communications, and user interface design. |
Integrated Manufacturing |
Engineering and manufacturing are fully integrated to eliminate costly transition cycles when systems go from custom to production. Supply chain and manufacturing needs are interjected early in the design process. Engineers transfer knowledge directly to production personnel by generating work instructions, test procedures, selecting suppliers, and troubleshooting fabrication problems. Similarly, operator and maintenance manuals, training, and warranty support are established during engineering. Our ISO 9001:2008 certified processes are embedded company-wide, ensuring that quality and design-for-manufacturing are a consistent reality. |
